A Vintage Christmas Tablescape
Today I was working on creating a colourful vintage Christmas tablescape with items I had laying around my house. You know… because we’re pretty much in quarantine again.
Each Christmas season I usually do a few looks. I did a more simple look, here and this is a bit more of a busy look with simple objects that you probably already have around your house.
The key is to add vintage charm. For me, I used these brass candlesticks I thrifted a while back, the quilt and the crystal glasses you see.
Instead of using a tablecloth, I used brown paper. After your guests leave, all you have to do is take off the decor and wrap it up and the mess is gone!
I also utilized cypress from our yard. I wanted to create a draped look, but since our bench is close to the table, I just let it hang off ever so slightly. I then draped ribbon and bells over the cypress.
But the pop of colour – I used LEMONS! I know, it’s pretty unconventional for a vintage Christmas tablescape, but I wanted to jump out of my comfort zone.
The thing I like best about this kind of vintage Christmas tablescape is it isn’t uniform. It is however you want it to look.
I placed all the decor where I wanted it first, then I worked the garland around it.
But do you want to se my favourite part of this entire design?
