I’m finally writing this blog. If you follow me on Instagram, you will have seen that we made DIY built in closet storage a month ago. We live in a 1,300 square foot home, and there are six of us sharing this home. Every space in our home is maximized for storage, and we do not keep anything we do not use.
As I was scrolling on Pinterest, I saw the perfect DIY built in closet system, and funny enough, Alicia actually was following me on Instagram. We didn’t follow Nicks’s plans to a T; we kind of did our own thing. But his plans are amazing if you are a beginner builder!
Since lumbar costs are 50-60% more than they were a year ago, this project cost us around 400.00, and that is with owning all the tools and paint.
Since we still wanted to utilize the top shelf for oversized baskets, we built our built-in to 64″ Tall. I also wanted two very deep drawers for all my pyjamas and loungewear as our dresser is small and doesn’t fit those.
Can you tell that my side of the closet is bursting at the seams? In reality, I don’t have many clothes for a female.
We painted the wall and DIY built-in closet storage in Chantilly Lace from Benjamin Moore. It’s such a bright white, and we’re slowly painting our entire house this colour.
We wanted a very cohesive look in our closet, so we purchased these pant hangers and these regular hangers. Really good bang for your buck, and they ship fast!
Back in 2016 I started doing capsule wardrobes every season. This cuts down on the amount of clothes you have in your closet at any given time and makes it way easier to get dressed – in my opinion.
