Welcome to the blog today. I’m taking a down day as I’ve been working on so many projects lately at full steam and I just needed to rest today. My DM box on Instagram is always full of questions about paint colors in my home so today I’m sharing my top 10 paint colors that I love that I’ve used in my home.
I’m a pretty simple gal. I do love a good white, but what you might not know is there are so many whites out there. Some can look grey ( brrr, think warehouse ) and some can look yellowy ( think rental basement ). My favorite whites are crisp with a bit of cream added in. Bright + cozy!
Top Ten Paint Colours
- Alabaster White
This white is my all time favourite white. It’s “Alabaster” and you can find it at Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore. It’s very creamy but doesn’t look yellowy at all.
I’ve lived in quite a few places over the last 12 years and this white has looked good in any house I’ve lived in. It’s so fresh and bright but yet doesn’t feel stark.
2. Tricorn Black
We painted our fireplace and side tables in this black. We painted our fireplace is flat and our side tables and dresser in a enamel semigloss for better durability. If you’re looking for a creamy and not super stark black – this color is for you and it can be found at Sherwin Williams.
3. Ella Rose
This colour I didn’t know I liked until I used it. But with over 2,750 likes ( and climbing ) on Instagram and an Inbox full of requests as to which colour it was, I thought I would add it to the blog. This pink is from Magnolia Homes Kilz Line.
This beigy-pink color is super light and named after Joanna Gaines daughter!
Head to this blog to see more angles of this colour.
4. North Woods
North woods has been my most request paint colour. It was briefly in our entrance for about a year. I still have it on a barn door in our office and I’,m sure I’ll paint something else with this colour in the future.
Its gorgeous deep green and looks amazing paired with gold, blacks, whites and wood tones.
5. Simple White
I’ve used Simple White from Benjamin Moore in quite a few of our homes too. It’s a very crisp clean white. It’s currently not in our home now.
6. True White
True white is a true white. It’s from Magnolia Homes and we also had it in our office in our old house. I love this color so much, but it is hard to get in Canada. I’ve had it matched at a local paint store though.
It’s currently in our master bedroom!
7. Silver Queen
Although this isn’t one of my favorite colors. It’s currently in our Dining room and kids rooms and I get questions about it frequently. It’s a darker grey with a purple undertone.
9. Chantilly Lace
I don’t have this current white in my home, but I used it to paint furniture a few years back. It is the perfect shade of white and is really popular in the Interior Design world as it blends with everything, this is one of Benjamin Moore’s most popular whites!
10. Classic Gray
We had this in the farmhouse and it was such a beautiful and high end gray. I really dislike grey with mauve undertones and this one is a true gray. This can be found at Benjamin Moore as well.
